You know you can always trust on Lektroluv to put young homegrown talent forward. Junior is 23 and hailing from the southern part of Belgium. He already remixed Mr Magnetik’s latest single ‘Remanence’ for us, and now it’s time for his own debut EP on the label.
He’s definitely “destroying the disco” here, with some spaced out future techno! Big melodies and banging rhythms that don’t allow the dancefloor to rest for a single second. Junior is someone you’ll hear much more of in the future, and after listening to this EP, you’ll take our word on that.
Early support from Alex Gopher, Bloody Beetroots, Boys Noize, Digitalism, Don Rimini, Mustard Pimp, Don Diablo, The Loops Of Fury, Mixhell and many more!
By the way, don't forget to check out the mixtape he made for us!
Modek has been busier than ever since the release of his 'Willow/Dust' EP, that got played by everyone from Boys Noize over Fake Blood to Etienne De Crecy. Apart from touring like a madman he did remixes for Keith & Supabeatz (Southern Fried) and AutoKratz (Bad Life) plus a track for Cheaper Thrills. This 'The Brink' EP is now his second release on Lektroluv and we're very proud to have Modek back on board! Banging and epic at the same time… quite unique!
The new EP is coming up on the 11th of June, stay tuned for previews on our Soundcloud & Youtube channel!
To try to label John Roman is to date yourself – the reclusive producer/DJ whose appetite for innovative music is exceeded only by his obsession for creating it. At 22, his original tracks “Sala” and “Petrified” have already graced Laidback Luke’s BBC Radio1 Essential Mix and Brodinski’s Fabriclive60 CD, respectively. With additional supporters ranging from Riton, Sinden, Fake Blood, Harvard Bass and even Skrillex, its hard to imagine a sound so unique and widely appealing if you haven’t heard it already. Raw, rhythmic, sample-heavy and instantly danceable – Roman’s music cuts straight to the bodies on the dancefloor and the mind of the listener. At once a rejection of the mainstream’s neon hedonism and the elitist underground’s critical constraints, Roman channels the angst and aggression of youth with the sophisticated wisdom of a veteran househead.
It’s this rare combination that’s earned him official remixes for Crookers, Sinden, Defected - and of course also Sound Of Stereo (Quartz, from the Mineral EP). We’re very happy to be able to present a full EP from him now on Lektroluv. With such an amazing sound, this guy is gonna be big in no time, mark our words!!
Feedback has been absolutely amazing on this one. Support from Erol Alkan, Congorock, Harvard Bass, Sinden, Beataucue, Mustard Pimp, Don Rimini, Don Diablo, NT89, Style Of Eye, Mixhell, Etienne de Crécy, Chocolate Puma, Fedde Le Grand, Mason, Supabeatz, Bird Peterson, Autokratz, Wax Motif, Ego Troopers, Hey Today! and many many others!
John Roman's Infrared EP is out now on Beatport. At the time of writing the release is in the Top 30 genre chart over there!
The 12" was already available in the Lektroluv Shop, but from now on you can also buy the vinyl on Juno or any other good shop.
